Medical Director

Dr Miguel Reis e Silva

Specialist in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and in Sports Medicine, with Pain Medicine from the Portuguese Medical Association, dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal pain. He is Medical Director of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, where he has been part of the medical department since 2017, and founder and Medical Director of Clínica Myalgia, in Lisbon and Almada. With two master's degrees — in musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided intervention, and in pain research and treatment — he is known for procedimentos guiados por imagem — such as injections of Hyaluronic acid, o PRP and peripheral nerve blocks — often combined with physiotherapy, movement analysis and biomechanical correction, to treat the cause of pain and not just the symptom.

A former international orienteering and mountain-running athlete, and doctor to the Portuguese national trail-running team, he brings his experience of elite sport to the care of anyone in pain — from elite athletes to people who simply want to move freely again.
