Custom insoles in Lisbon and Almada
Biomechanical assessment, laser foot scanning and precision 3D printing — insoles designed for your foot and your problem.
What are custom insoles?
MYALGIA® custom insoles are devices designed specifically for each foot — based on its anatomy, your gait and the specific problem we want to solve.
The difference from generic shop or pharmacy insoles lies in the process: before designing the insole, a health professional assesses your posture, your gait and the pressure distribution under your feet. The insole isn't just "made to fit your foot" — it is made for your movement pattern and your goals.
The full process includes:
Clinical and biomechanical assessment — posture, gait and plantar pressure distribution;
3D laser scan — exact capture of the shape of each foot, without foam boxes;
Individual digital design — modelling in specialised software, with corrections defined for your case;
Precision 3D printing — high-quality materials, with a final check and fitting to your footwear.
By restoring correct support and alignment, insoles can reduce overload not only on the feet but along the whole chain — ankles, knees, hips and spine.
Which problems are they indicated for?
Custom insoles can be part of the treatment for:
Plantar fasciitis and heel spurs — heel pain, especially with the first steps in the morning;
Flat feet or high arches — fallen or overly high arches, with associated overload;
Metatarsalgia — pain in the "ball" of the foot;
Achilles and tibialis posterior tendinopathy;
Bunion (hallux valgus) — to redistribute pressure and slow progression;
Knee, hip or back pain originating from how you stand and walk — when biomechanical analysis identifies the foot as the cause;
Running injuries and sports overuse — shin splints, patellofemoral syndrome, recurrent stress fractures;
Jobs that keep you on your feet — for those who spend long hours standing and feel fatigue and pain by the end of the day;
Leg length differences and other asymmetries.
In many of these cases, the insole works best as part of a plan — with physiotherapy, exercise or technique correction in our Movement Analysis Lab. It is this integration that sets us apart.
Complete assessment and production process
3D laser scan
Postural analysis and laser scanning of each foot, creating an exact three-dimensional model — no foam or plaster casts.
Digital design
Setting the correction goals for each foot and modelling the insole in specialised software.
3D printing
3D-printed production, quality check and final fitting of the insole to your footwear.
-
A professional assesses your complaint, posture and gait, and sets individual goals for the insole — because an insole for plantar fasciitis is not the same as an insole for running.
-
Exact 3D scanning of each foot and mapping of pressure distribution, with the latest technology — no foam boxes.
-
Modelling in specialised software, combining the shape of your foot with the corrections defined during the assessment.
-
Printing, quality control and final fitting to your footwear, with guidance for the adaptation period.
Frequently asked questions
How are they different from pharmacy or sports-shop insoles?
Generic insoles offer the same cushioning for everyone. Ours start from an individual clinical and biomechanical assessment and are designed to correct your specific problem — not just to provide comfort. It is the difference between a support and a treatment.
Who carries out the assessment?
Clínica Myalgia's health professionals, with experience in biomechanics and elite sport. The insole is prescribed like any other clinical act — with a diagnosis, goals and follow-up.
How long does it take to receive the insoles?
After the assessment and scan, 3D-printed production usually takes 7 days.
Is there an adaptation period?
Yes, and that's normal: in the first few days, your muscles and neuromuscular system adjust to the new support. We recommend gradual use, and in most cases adaptation takes one to two weeks.
Do the insoles fit all shoes?
The insoles are fitted to the type of footwear you use day to day or for sport — it is one of the questions in the assessment. Very minimalist shoes, high heels or narrow toe boxes can limit the options; we discuss this with you before designing.
How long do they last?
It depends on the material, body weight, activity and mileage — with daily use, typically 1 to 2 years. In athletes with high training volumes, wear is naturally faster; we check the condition of the insoles at follow-up.
Do you make insoles for children?
Yes, when there is a clinical indication — assessment is even more important at this age, because not every child with flat feet needs an insole. We assess first, and only suggest treatment when it is justified.
